Martina Palermiti was born in 1990 in south of Italy. She studied at Polimoda, Florence, and she became a designer. Now she lives and works is in Milan. We talk to her. We were so curious of inspirations and themes of her latest collection. “Inscrutable Skin”, Fall/Winter 2014
During the interview with Martina Palermiti, we talk about her inspiration and she said,
For this collection I used as icon the photographer Janieta Eyre and I was inspired by her vision of the world: a play of illusions and contrasts
Janieta represents in a perfect way a visionary and surreal world, but everything combined to the fashion photography. The photographer shows images with redesigned bodies and identity exchanges.
Inspired by this images and meanings, which give you both a visual and emotional impact, Martina created a collection based on the duality between femininity and masculinity, strength and fragility.
So, she chose to put together fabrics that are seemingly at odds, such as the femininity of the silk with the hostility of the leather. Also cuts and shapes played a great importance, everything captured from the world of motorcycle and with the same style is the campaign, of course.
